Updates with FirstLink Technology
This is an exciting time for FirstLink! Our last data center move was in 1999, and the upgrade we experienced then is as immense as the upgrade we will experience next week, when we move into our new downtown facility. We will be upgrading to a tier 3 data center and will add the availability of 10GB network circuits, multiple storage options ranging from database storage with extremely high IOPS to redundant block and object storage containers. We will also have on-network options for layer 2 connectivity directly to our cloud hosting environment and all compute and storage elements will be covered under our annual SOC2 audit.
This move has been in the works for over a year, ensuring the effects will be minimal. Some compute workloads have already moved to the new data center, however we are preparing the final migration during the above normal maintenance window and there could be some intermittent downtime during this final migration. Rest assured, multiple datasets have been replicated to each location and our backup/restore processes have been tested at each location multiple times to ensure zero data loss.
Thank you for your business and should you have any questions or concerns feel free to reach out to me directly.
Sincerely,
Jeff Luinstra
